Been browsing the old iTunes library for something rare but Sunday-like, and came across these dreamy, currently out-of-print ditties. Before the Dodos became a band, its singer-guitarist Meric Long recorded an EP, «Dodo Bird», in 2006. It's basically the same musical universe: bluegrass fingerpicking, syncopated acoustic strumming and percussion inspired by West African rhythms, all bursting from within the melancholy bounds of wistful words and soft melodies.
